Wildcat Legal Protection
It breaks my heart! The cats we have in the witness protection program are amazing! Just as you love Shanti Deva, Chupino and so many others, I know how much you would love these “faceless cats”. After the survey, we had the opportunity to submit final contributions. Our legal representative, Susan Shaw, has done an outstanding job of gathering all this information. The main points we raised are: Clashindarroch is an area of national importance for feral cats. Even Vattenfall admits, at least 5 areas of feral cats will be negatively affected. Vattenfall also acknowledges this. This development could lead to an extinction vortex for the entire population. Vattenfall`s environmental impact assessment is subject to major uncertainties and gaps. The risks of development far outweigh the benefits. It is simply the wrong development in the wrong place. We reaffirm that we are in favour of renewable energies, but that this cannot be a development at any price. Just a quick message to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported our Justice for Finlay campaign so far. We got off to a good start, which allowed us to immediately hire a fantastic legal team specialising in complaints/actions against the police.
We are already gathering all the documents they need to make the strongest case. Only the best for Finlay and we won`t hold back. The purpose of tomorrow`s meeting is to verify that the parties are on track to present their evidence to the reporter at the February meetings. As you know, we submitted a written statement last week providing a detailed overview and explanation of the legal and environmental concerns. The titles we made were: nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Flinkprotect.cudasvc.com%2Furl%3Fa%3Dhttps%253a%252f%252fdpea.public-i.tv%252fcore%252fportal%252fwebcast_interactive%252f649473%26c%3DE%2C1%2Cpx7LPJPLj_V5lLlyfVWm2WLxs2pOR9om_nu2fm2-M6C7PDxGM24x84VCRt57FhPOCx5Peg5LqyshF7LQe1-e031axyEOM9mhxLkONJPQaFmvdtRofUzm1E4ZxBI%2C%26typo%3D1&data=04%7C01%7C%7C631f787912d24fb2fae608d9fb966229%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637817445583940699%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=HccqMgA8jNdYn%2FvgFiSAeJrsKSg52cYvxTWMK6pFq%2F4%3D&reserved=0 If you take 4 hours and ten minutes in the early afternoon, you will see Vattenfall`s legal representative, Marcus Trinick, QC, trying to prevent important evidence from being heard during the investigation. One such document was a report that showed evidence of feral cats at the site in 2013. The report was paid for by Vattenfall and bears their logo. Apparently, they had never seen it before. Vattenfall did not disclose this to the investigation, which can only be considered a deliberate attempt to mislead. However, if you click on this link, you will see that they finally admit their existence. Apparently, they couldn`t find it before!!!!!. Lies about lies about lies.
Here is their admission of its existence: We will see this to the end and continue to work hard to save the Clashindarroch and its precious wild cats. You are so grateful for your help so far. If you would like to continue supporting our work, you can do so at the following address: Super cats are domestic or farm cats that have been microchipped, sterilized and vaccinated up to date. Here you can learn more about the Supercat campaign and promise to chip, sterilize and vaccinate your cat: www.scottishwildcataction.org/supercat We remain deeply upset, stunned and concerned about Finlay. It is also hard not to be wary of the timing, just 2 weeks before the public inquiry into Vattenfall`s proposals to build a wind farm in the Clashindarroch forest; A proposal that threatens one of the last remaining wild populations of the Scottish wildcat. It is common knowledge that we have had Finlay for a year, so why ask the police to fall now? Legal possession of wildcat specimens for scientific, research or educational purposes also requires a license. The capture, possession or release of a feral cat outside its native range also requires a permit. This is the last fight for a beautiful creature that has survived centuries of persecution and intense habitat loss. Clashindarroch and there is clear hope for the future, but without it, the wildcat will almost certainly die in Scotland. Camera surveys for feral cats can be done year-round, but to detect signs in the field, it`s best to do them when vegetation is low. Possessing, transporting, selling or exchanging, or offering for sale or exchanging feral cats (or parts or derivatives) acquired after June 10, 1994 There are local, state, national, and even international wildlife protection laws regarding hunting and animal capture, animal trade, habitat restoration, and the protection of endangered species. This must not happen to any other animal, and it is therefore important that all those involved in Finlay`s illegal detention and all those responsible for his mental and physical trauma are held fully accountable.
As we have said before, we have hired a fantastic legal team, and the first phase of reparations is underway to build the strongest case. We don`t know how long the process will take, but like Finlay, we can give you a cast iron guarantee that we will fight as hard as we can and never give up. We will ensure that justice is served and that Finlay has the future he deserves. Finlay can`t speak, so we have to speak collectively for him. We know Finlay touched all your hearts, so if you`d like to support our Justice for Finlay campaign, please visit: UK population maybe as little as 400. Scottish feral cats are found in central and northern Scotland north of the industrial belt between Edinburgh and Glasgow, but are absent on the Scottish islands and elsewhere in the UK.
